Victoria Perk
Part of our tour was going up to Victoria Perk to get a view of the city. Poor Danny had hives all over his body. Justin put some sun block on him that we had never tried before and he broke out and itched like crazy. Of course I didn't bring any benadryl with and keeping him from scratching was a challenge. We barely made it on the cable car and were standing in the isle on our trip up. I was trying to lightly tickle/scratch his hives when a woman sitting in front of us handed me some itch cream. What luck! We put it on (which was a challenge since we were going up a very long, steap hill/mountain but we managed to make it up there. Before the turn of the century the wealthy British families settled up there but there was no road to walk up so it would take the servants all day to walk down, get what they needed from the city, and then go back up. I don't know how they did it. Once up there we found a 7-11 and it had some cream that we lathered all over him. It helped within 10 minutes. Thank heaven for small miracles.
The view was pretty amazing although it was very smoggy out.

Our guide showed us a photo taken from 1911 and almost all of the tall buildings were not there. There were a few small ones but you could see how industrialization has changed the face of Hong Kong. Many of the citizens have complained about the tall sky scrapers so the government said that no more new buildings will be built. Poor Disneyland. The owners bought lots of land to use for hotels and park rides but now it is just grass and trees. They can't expand.
