After playing in the sand for a while we went into the Gulf. We walked around but there were a lot of ity bity jelly fish so I decided we should go in. On our way in I noticed a Sea Urchin. In the name of science (my justification) I took it out of the ocean and watched it. It was alive but not for long. I let it die which I still feel guilty for but I tried to also justify it by having it be my counterweight because the week before I found a live jelly fish and put it back. Anyway, I heard that you pluck off the spikes and hollow out the center and use it as a decoration. I don't know if I am going to do that. Someone else told me that sea anemonies are cousins to the sand dollar. We have only found bits and pieces of several, not any that are whole. We have so many shells that I don't usually pick up any more. Our next conquest is a Sand Dollar. I think we will need to go to the other side of the beach.
Danny had asked last week if we could build a sand castle. Why not? So, a few days ago Danny and I went out and built one. I taught him how to fill the buckets and dump them.
