Hatteras Lighthouse

Hatteras Lighthouse

It was a beautiful day so we decided to go to Cape Hatteras to climb the lighthouse. Danny had never been there before and it was 12 flights up. At the very top is an observation area but if the wind is over 40mph they close that and you only get to look out of a window one flight below. Heather and Abram didn't go up with because you had to be a certain height and be able to walk up the whole thing by yourself. Grandma and Grandpa looked in the book store/gift shop and Andy rode his bike there.

I am so proud that I made it all the way up. I was up there for about 2 minutes when they said they were going to close the observation area down. We had enough time for Jordan to take our picture and me to snap off a couple of the landscape. By the time I got down my legs were shaky. After our adventure we met up with Megan, Andy, and Jason and Grandma and Grandpa and had lunch nearby. After our lunch we went for a drive and Danny fell asleep in the car. YEAH!!! So, Justin and I took turns going into a couple shops just to look around. We ended up going to this cute little st0re where I got a necklace and a blown glass globe. I collect blown glass work but what was unique about this was that before they sealed it all the way up they put sand and shells inside of it. It is mostly clear but in the back of the globe there were swirls of blue, light green, and pink that looked like waves. Before we left Danny woke up and wanted to go in. Justin showed him the marble turtle he was going to buy for his Mom and Danny said that I should get a turtle too. It was a wonderful day!
