The Fireworks

We went to our ward Flag ceremony and Flag raising. We were about 30 minutes late. When we got there everyone was outside shivering and there was a guy who was a professional scouter up there giving a speech about freedom. Now, I have nothing against the boy scouts and this guy was a very good speaker but it was hard to concentrate with Danny climbing all over me. Hode me pweese. The guy talked for about 20 minutes while we were there. I don't know how long he had already talked for. He did talk about the Gettysburg address and about President Lincoln. It was about 58 degrees outside and I didn't bring a coat. Burrrrrr! Jealous, aren't you.

On another note, Marta showed me how to do my hair like this and it turned out really cute. Thanks Marts!!

The Fireworks. Last year we didn't go to see the fireworks because it was too late for Danny to be up and it would have scared him and we were in Florida and didn't know where to go. This year we decided we would go. Notice the coats? Still cold outside. All day we talked up the fireworks and I tried explaining to him what fireworks were and finally we went onto Youtube and I showed him what they are. He thought that was really cool!!! So, at about 8:15 we got our stuff together and headed out to Chevron. The fireworks were lit off at the building next door so we had great seats. We spread our blanket out (notice it is the jeans quilt I have been working on for the last 11 years, it still isn't finished. I did trim the edges and still need to bind it.

I wanted to take a picture of Justin and Daniel on the blanket when this really nice guy, a geologist who works mainly with Iraq asked me if he could take our picture. We couldn't get it unblurry. Does anyone know how to fix this in photoshop? I other than the blurriness, I think we look great and I even look thinner. Any time I get a photo where I look skinnier I definitely want that to go on my blog.

Danny all wrapped up in the blanket Justin's mom made for him when he was a little boy. We also brought the DVD player and he watched all of 5 minutes of it and then was so excited he couldn't sit still. The nice thing about where we were was that there weren't very many people near us in the parking lot so he could run around and we could see him. He was so anxious for the fireworks to start. He would run to a nearby building (50 yards away) and then run back and ask when they were going to have the fireworks.

He fell asleep almost immediately in the car. It tuckered him out.

The lighting on this is terrible but just watch it, you'll get a kick out of it anyway.

Cute hair Rachel! We also had a cool and enjoyable night for fireworks. K was loving them, bit kept telling me "loud." Ethan and Erin couldn't get enough either.
