We visited the Temple of Heaven and a ceramics factory. The factory was beautiful but expensive. We were told that the white rock that they used for their ceramics is only found in China which is why they were so expensive. Justin really liked a little vase but after he bought me the jade charm I didn't want to spend any more money. I have to admit it was very pretty. I really like ceramics but are pretty cheap in the Philippines. I want to get a tea set here before we leave. Actually, I would love a whole set of china and a vase but that is too expensive so I'll just get a teapot. The guy that was trying to get Justin to buy the vase started at something around $250 US dollars and by the time we left was down to $120. I should have taken a photo of it but Danny was having bathroom issues that day so I didn't see much of the ceramics. Funny story. Danny was constipated for a couple days so each place we went to he had to go potty. I felt so frustrated because he wanted me to take him since most of the men's bathrooms don't have a sit down toilet. Many of them are either Arab toilets (a hole in the floor) or the kind that is just a bowl and no seat. The problem with that is that his legs aren't really long enough to straddle the bowl very well. So, we get to the bathroom here and it was an Arab toilet. So, I had to hold him up while he squatted and then I realized that I had to toilet paper. That is another problem here, many bathrooms don't have toilet paper and in the ones that do you cannot flush it but have to put it in a waste basket. So, I had to leave Danny squatting so I could find Justin to get some toilet paper that I had him bring with us from the hotel.
The two statues on the left are really intricate carvings. The one on the bottom left is a Buddhist God, a woman with many arms because they believed that purpose is helping others. Some of the statues were made from jade and other were just ceramics.
