After the pyramids we took a cruise on the Nile River with very loud (annoying) music, a belly dancer, whirling dervish dancer, and buffet type lunch. It looks like they repeat the whole show every hour and it was really a tourist operation. It was ok but not what we had hoped for. The Nile itself is a large but rather murky river. After the river entertainment we stopped at the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha. This is also called the Alabaster Mosque and was built during the Ottoman Empire and was completed in 1857. This was a really cool Mosque. Rachel however wasn’t feeling well – maybe something from the Nile Buffet. The final stop of the day was a shopping complex with a papyrus store and souvenir shop. Danny was asleep on the bus so he and Rachel just stayed on the bus. Justin picked up a piece of papyrus and also some souvenir’s of Egypt including a gold charm for Rachel’s bracelet. After this is was a three hour drive back the port in Alexandria and the ship for well needed rest.
